Breast Augmentation (Enlargement)
A breast enlargement is a very personal decision that requires a thoughtful approach to the needs and desires of the patient, while respecting the limitations of the techniques that are available. Dr. D’Amore will spend considerable time during your consultation reviewing these choices and how they apply to your specific goals.
Breast reductions are performed for both medical and cosmetic reasons to make the breast smaller and the patient more comfortable with their size. Many times the procedure is covered by your medical insurance as a treatment for upper back, shoulder, and neck pain attributable to your large breasts, as a means of reducing or relieving your discomfort. During your consultation, Dr. D’Amore will be able to determine if these symptoms, along with your physical findings, may be covered. In addition, a smaller, cosmetic reduction may be considered for those unhappy with the large size of their breasts, but without the symptoms or volume that qualify them for insurance coverage.
Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
Breast lift surgery is used to correct the appearance of breasts that are droopy, whether from nursing, weight loss, aging, or inherited circumstances. Through a variety of incisions, and rarely implants, Dr. D’Amore can improve this development, and restore the breasts to a more pleasing appearance.
While some small differences between your breasts are normal, many women wonder if more noticeable differences can be improved through surgery. The differences may have occurred during early breast development or be the result of previous surgery, weight changes, or aging. Schedule a consultation to review all your options for improving the symmetry of your breasts.
Breast reconstruction after treatment for breast cancer is a very personal decision that involves a number of considerations. This consultation will include an extensive review of your reconstructive options as well as the timing of your surgery. Dr. D’Amore’s expertise in breast reconstruction centers around the use of tissue expanders and breast implants. However, she works closely with surgeons from URMC should their skills in other forms of breast tissue reconstruction be indicated.
